The Ultimate Fighting Championship announced earlier today that tickets for UFC 158 will go on sale to the general public on Wednesday 26th of January and that they will host a press conference on January 23 in Montreal with the main event stars. The main event features the long-awaited welterweight title fight showdown between Georges St-Pierre and Nick Diaz.
The main card will also feature several other compelling welterweight match-up including a co-main event between Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit. Although Condit is coming off a loss to the champ, Rory requested this fight at avenge his loss to Condit back in 2010. The card will also feature another interesting 170lbs match-up as Johny Hendricks meets Jake Ellenberger to cement his spot as the rightful no.1 contender.
In addition to St-Pierre and MacDonald, six other Canadian will be on the card representing their country. Patrick Cote will meet Strikeforce import Bobby Voelker, Jordan Mein will make his UFC debut against veteran Dan Miller , while Toronto’s Sean Pierson battles welterweight Rick Story , Montreal’s John Makdessi returns against Daron Cruickshank and Montreal’s Yves Jabouin challenges bantamweight Johnny Eduardo.
Tickets for UFC 158 go on sale Saturday, January 26 at 12 p.m. ET and are priced at $600, $350, $250, $200, $165, $115 and $85. Tickets will be available at the Bell Centre box office
